Eligibilty

To be eligible to receive care from a medical provider of our volunteer staff, please ensure that you meet the following criteria.

You must:

  • Be uninsured or underinsured (no private/employer covered health insurance)

  • Reside in East County

  • Have a household income at or less than 250% of the federal poverty level

  • Over the age of 18, adults only clinic

  •  1 person $30,156 per year

  • 2 persons $40,608 per year

  • 3 persons $51,060 per year

  • 4 persons $61,500 per year


What if I don’t meet VIM’s eligibility requirements? I still can’t afford healthcare!

There are many resources available to you…you just need to know how to easily find them.

  • Covered California

    Covered California is the Affordable Care Act entity in California. They can help you apply and see what healthcare programs that you would be eligible.

    Getting help is as simple as dialing 211 to connect with a member of  the San Diego 211 team who will help you access  healthcare, medical and community resources through a free, 24/7 stigma-free phone service. You can also use 211sandiego.org

  • Grossmont Healthcare District

    The Grossmont Healthcare District—in association with Grossmont Hospital—supports the health and well-being of East County citizens. It offers services such as its emergency and critical care center and the Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library at Briercrest Park. The library provides easy access to comprehensive and reliable medical information that is free, open to everyone.
