How do I qualify?

All patients must meet the eligibility requirements below to be seen in our clinic, and must make an appointment since we cannot accommodate walk-ins. Proof of residence & income is required. New patients must present a verifiable form of ID at their first appointment.

Outside those hours, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Eligibilty

To be eligible to receive care from a medical provider, please ensure that you meet the following criteria.

You must:

  • Be uninsured or underinsured (no private/employer covered health insurance).

  • Reside in San Diego County.

  • Be over the age of 18.

  • Have a household income at, or less than, 250% of the federal poverty level.

    Currently the limits are:

    1 person $36,450 per year.

    2 persons $49,300 per year.

    3 persons $62,150 per year.

    4 persons $75,000 per year.

What if I don’t meet VIM’s eligibility requirements? I still can’t afford healthcare!

Covered California is the Affordable Care Act entity in California. They can help you apply and see what healthcare programs you would be eligible for.

  • Primary Care

    We provide services such as preventive care, health management and counseling. Our patients are never charged for any of our services or programs.

  • Chronic Care

    We help patients manage common chronic Illnesses such as diabetes, asthma, and heart diseases.

  • Behavioral Health

    Behavioral health counseling and support services are available.

  • Health Education

    We provide the resources and information that you need to live a healthier life. We have dietitians available to support healthy eating habits.

  • Geriatric Care

    We promote health at all stages of life with the goal of helping you stay well and receive care with dignity and respect.

  • Minor X-Ray and Lab Procedures

    Blood tests and some imaging services are offered at no cost.

  • Specialty Services

    Acupuncture, dietetic, chiropractic services, dermatology and nutrition counseling. Specialty care is dependent on availability and varies.

  • Social Services Assistance

    We can provide resources and information that you need to live a healthier life, such as assistance with applying for CMS, MediCAL, or pharmaceutical programs when appropriate and necessary.

  • Medication

    We provide access to low-cost, generic prescription medications. Medications are available through pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Programs (PAP).
