All patients must:

  • Meet eligibility requirements below to see one of our medical providers.
  • Make an appointment since we cannot accommodate walk-ins. Please call us at 619-440-4591.


In order to be eligible to receive care from a member of our caring staff, please ensure that you meet the following criteria.

You must:

  1. Be uninsured (no medical, Medicare/Medi-Cal, or private/employer covered health insurance)
  2. Reside in East County
  3. Have a household income of  less than 200% of the federal poverty level
  •  1 person $23,340 per year
  • 2 persons $31,460 per year
  • 3 persons $39,580 per year
  • 4 persons $47,700 per year
  • 5 persons $55,820 per year
  • 6 persons $63,940 per year
  • 7 persons $72,060 per year
  • 8 persons $80,180 per year

For each additional person, add $9,900 per year. Please note, pregnant women count as two people.

What if I don’t meet VIM’s eligibility requirements? I still can’t afford healthcare!

Covered California – is the Affordable Care Act entity in California – they can help you apply and see what healthcare programs that you would be eligible

San Diego 2-1-1
Getting help is as simple as dialing 2-1-1 to connect with a member of  the San Diego 2-1-1 team who will help you access  healthcare, medical and community resources through a free, 24/7 stigma-free phone service. You can also use 211.org

Grossmont Healthcare District
The Grossmont Healthcare District—in association with Grossmont Hospital—supports the health and well-being of East County citizens. It offers services such as its emergency and critical care center and the Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library at Briercrest Park. The library provides easy access to comprehensive and reliable medical information that is free, open to everyone.
